The Types of Ney

In the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Yılmaz Öztuna's Turkish Music Dictionary, it is stated that there are 12 kinds of neys.

According to the information in the book, we call a total of twelve varieties according to their lengths and voices.

These Neyler's seven are Neyler, consisting of tonal natural sounds: Neyler, in the tones of Mi, Re, Do, Si, La, Sol and Fa.

The tone of the five is Neyler, which consists of intermediate voices: Mi bemol, Do diyez, Si bemol, La bemol and Fa Sayes.

The Neyler, whose size is half the size and whose sound is from an octave above, is also called Nısfiye Nay's.

Nısfiye Neyler is a complete octave from the top, that is, an octave treble.

Nısfiye Neyleri or Piccolo Neyleri are used in many types of music today.

Nay's is also used in world music genres.

In that case, we will have a total of twenty varieties to count these Piccolo Neys.

Piccolo Nay's, which is used occasionally in Turkish music today, is used in all of the Arab countries,

in India and Central Asian music, and so on in Tibet.

How are the names of the Nays determined?

They are determined by the lengths of the neys and the voices they sound.

  What is sound?

Sound is the mechanical vibration of a gas, liquid or solid elastic medium in which the energy is transferred by

gradually increasing sound waves from the source of the energy.

The brain perceives this stimulation as sound.

  A progressive sound wave, energy, and this energy is taken up by another mechanical system, such as earplugs;

It is transmitted to the brain through the nerves.

How to determine the tone of the Ney instrument ?

the la tone voice on the go is based on the tone of the Nay

The La Fiesta is just the sound of our left hand ring finger being open.

We will shut down La voice to remove the curtains:

RIGHT HAND: Head, Sign, Middle and Ring Fingers.

LEFT EL: Sign and Middle Fingers.

The frequency is the vibration or the number of revolutions per second of the sound.

As the number of vibrations increases within 1 second of sound, in other words,

as the frequency increases, the sound becomes sharper.

As the frequency drops, the sound becomes thicker.

The frequency and pitch are directly proportional.
